#OTD 50 years ago! #Apollo15 touched down on the Moon. Here I've produced for you, from 16mm film frames (HD source @steveslater1987), an enhanced view from Jim Irwin's window as they approach the landing spot (red dot). The landing buckled the engine skirt (right).#Apollo50 pic.twitter.com/p9mf75zvb6

Two hours after #Apollo15 landed on the Moon, astronaut Dave Scott stood up in the lunar lander's open-top hatch to get a 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape. It's like peeking up through the sun roof of your car! https://t.co/aur7OQQYcl pic.twitter.com/VyaCmoKmq8

We don't currently have an Apollo 15 in Real Time website, but I thought I'd post this mission control clip from the end of the Stand Up EVA, conducted shortly after landing 50 years ago today... I've added the audio to the silent 16mm footage. #Apollo50 @NASA @nepetro @BenFeist pic.twitter.com/N9lGpmVziu
